Aargh! Pirates! (and the Press)
http://www.spj.org/ecs15.asp
 Situation
The band, The ting tings, was just about to release an album but someone had done that before they had the chance to. All of their songs from the new album were leaked giving people the chance to download them for free causing the record company to lose thousands of dollars.
Opinion
In my opinion, I absolutely think that they are helping people find the music. They are leading them to it. They do cover stories about the music and include links so they can easily find it.

Offensive Images

Situation
Cartoons were released by an Islamic terrorist group. The images were released in 2005 but didn't stir a riot until 2006. People were beginning to die and places were burned
Opinion
I think that publishing them is a bad idea but, I also think that not publishing them is a bad idea. The people should have the right to know whats happening and what the cause of it is. The cartoons are said to be not as bad as they seem to be. I would say to publish an article giving a few details about what the cartoons show and say. If the people want to look further into it, they can find the cartoons online. As long as the press describes what's happening and describes maybe one or two of the cartoons, they should be published.
Publishing Drunk Drivers' Photos
http://www.spj.org/ecs10.asp
Situation
Don White, the editor of a weekly newspaper, decided to start publishing drunk drivers photos and information. He started monthly then went to weekly publishing these including their info.
Opinion
In my opinion, I don't think that this is appropriate in any way. I think this is embarrassing and its not right for the newspaper to be shaming people like this. I get it, drunk driving is bad and unsafe but, something like that could ruin someones life. It gives everyone in their town to see what happened leading to gossip. Gossip about how drunk you were, how fast you were going, etc. This could ruin their career and many more things depending on the person.
