1. Summarize the story in a paragraph.
This story is about the boom of cutting the school week short. This was something common in the farmland because the nearest grocery store was 20 miles away. Meaning that it was hard for schools to find staff members. It explains how instead of having a 5 day week, they let the children and teachers have Fridays off. This allows teachers to have an extra day for planning and for children to have a more educated block of learning. This is becoming common in other areas as well because of the efficiency of learning.and it can save schools 5%. However, because of the extra day off, crime is more common and low income families need to find daycare and they won't have the luxury of free meals.
2. What are some of the advantages to four day weeks, according to the article?
Some of the advantages of the four day weeks are that teachers have more time to plan. Another advantage is that it can save schools 5%. It also allows for students to have a more educated learning.
3. What are some of the disadvantages to a four day week, according to the article?
A disadvantage is that because of giving kids an extra day off, teenage crime is at a higher rate. Also, low income families need to find a daycare for their children and they don't have the luxury of the free meals.

I would love to one go to school for four days a week. This is because I don't like school and it would make my weekends longer.
